Anything Else to Add:
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed in as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Years in Education: It seems like I've been involved in education my whole life, one way or anoather, since I'm constantly learning (yeah right). Seriously I've been a guidance counselor for 12 years--and I enjoy what I do. I worked at Granite High School for 3 years and this will be my 10th year at Kearns High School. I have three younger siblings who attended Kearns High School, so my connection to this school started back in the mid 90's. My first job was at Franklin Covey--where I was a lead coordinator (another fancy word for secretary); I had to quit because my work hours interfered with my upper level evening courses for my undergraduate degree. I also worked for Continental Airlines for 10 years because I loved the travel benefits; flying to Hawaii in business first class for free is the best. The only reason I'm no longer employed there is because they reduced their staff size and my seniority date was on the chopping block.
Educational Background: Bachelor's of Science in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Utah; Master's of Education in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah.
Hobbies/Interests: Reading--suspense/thriller novels; eating good food--especially my Mom's cooking (Tongan); watching foreign films--Bollywood, Korean, Filipino movies.
Special Counseling Assignments: AP testing
Interesting Fact(s): Born and raised in Racho Cucamonga, California in the same home until I moved to Utah. As far as I know, I'm the only one with my name. My parents created my name by combining my aunt's nickname, "Uina" with the "lu" ending of her given name, "Tuasivivalu", creating Uinalu.

The saying: "Once a Cougar, always a Cougar" rings true to me as I am a Kearns High School graduate. I am a first generation college student but it took a lot to get me where I am today. I have worked in various jobs from Daycare, Nanny, Hairstylist, Billing & Accounts Receivable to volunteering in various places in the community. Besides Utah, I have also lived in California and Germany, each for about 1.5 years. I also really like puns and I think I'm hilarious.

Years in Education:
The 2015-2016 school year will be my 10th year in education. This is my third year in the Counseling Department at Kearns High, I had the privilege of completing my internship here and was hired on as an official Counselor starting the 2014-15 school year. Before coming to Kearns I taught Health and School Success at Hunter High School for 8 years. In my years at Hunter I also worked as the head Cheerleading and Drill team coach. I am a graduate of Hunter High School, did my Student Teaching at Granite Connections (then Central) High School, and have taught night school for Granite Peaks; so I have spent the majority of my educational and employment career within Granite School District. I look forward to continuing my career at a school as AMAZING as Kearns High School.

I love school and have always loved to learn, in fact a big reason I went into education is because it was the closest job I could have to getting paid for going to school; also the fact that I would still get to buy school supplies had a lot to do with it I may have a small obsession with school supplies and stationary). The way to my heart is through a Diet Coke with lots of ice.

Hobbies/Interests: Baking is definitely top on my list of hobbies. I love browsing through food blogs and finding new recipes to try. I also love to craft and have recently become obsessed with gift wrapping-very important. After getting married, I inherited cooler hobbies that didn't exist in my life before. I have now added mountain biking, snowboarding and backpacking to my list of hobbies. Anything that involves Utah's beautiful landscape is a favorite of mine!
