Anything Else to Add:
"There is no use trying," said Alice; "one can't believe impossible things."
"I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed in as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Years in Education: This is my second year working formally in education. I was able to do my school counseling internship right here at KHS last year and loved it! The saying: "Once a Cougar, always a Cougar" rings true to me as I am a Kearns High School graduate. I am a first generation college student but it took a lot to get me where I am today. I have worked in various jobs from Daycare, Nanny, Hairstylist, Billing & Accounts Receivable to volunteering in various places in the community. I am excited to continue my career here at Kearns High. Go Cougars!

Years in Education: This is my fourth year working in the school system. While I’ve planned on being a school counselor since I was 16 years old I’ve been a playground aide at an elementary school, a history/psychology teacher at a high school, and a middle school counseling intern along the way. I’m so happy to be at Kearns High this year and excited to stay in one place for awhile!
Educational Background: I have an Bachelors Degree in History Education and Psychology from Southern Utah University (Go T-Birds!) and a Master Degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah that allows me to do my dream job!
Hobbies/Interests:My favorite things to do are to cook delicious foods (and obviously eat them), play card or board games with family and friends, daydream about traveling, curl up with a good book or any of my favorite Netflix shows and play on a trivia website I’m obsessed with. I did drama and cross country in high school so I enjoy any chance to go see a play or run outside. I also have started doing Pilates recently so I can eat all the delicious foods without feeling too guilty!
Special Counseling Assignments:504 Plans, Freshman Breakouts, and Evidence Box
Interesting Fact(s): I grew up in one of the closest towns to Area 51. While I didn’t see too many aliens, I saw plenty of coyotes, jack rabbits, and wild horses. Because it’s such a small community, my high school graduating class only had 39 people in it. We have English classes bigger than that at Kearns!

I knew I wanted to be a high school counselor ever since I was a senior in high school. It’s a dream come true to come to work every day and do something that I love! I have always enjoyed being in school and look forward to working at a high school for years to come.
Educational Background: I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Behavioral Science with an emphasis in Psychology from Utah Valley University and a Master of Education degree in Educational Psychology from the University of Utah. Years in Education I have been at Kearns High School for the past year and a half. I started in January 2014. Before that I worked at an elementary school in the district for many years. I started off volunteering in PTA, then I became a substitute teacher at the school. After a few years of doing that I applied for a job as a secretary in the school. I worked as a secretary and para professional in the school for about five years. I was very happy to come to Kearns.
Educational Background I have a very broad educational background. I went to several colleges in the state of Utah and earned many, many credits in college. However, I never earned a degree. Since I have been working in the Counseling Center here at Kearns and the focus here is to tell students to go to college and get a degree, I figure I better walk the walk if I am going to talk the talk. I am currently enrolled in online courses at BYU Idaho, working on completing a degree.
Hobbies and Interest I have five wonderful hobbies and interests that I call children. My oldest son will graduate from the University of Utah this spring. I have two more in college, and one is currently on an LDS mission. I still have one child still in a nearby high school. Other interests of mine are reading, baking, (I am not fond of cooking, I have done that daily for the last 25 years and I don’t enjoy it much) I love the theater, and travel. I have been in all fifty states with my family.
Assignments My assignments in the counseling center are to make appointments for the counselors, make copies when needed, take minutes in meetings, order supplies, answer the phone, record office logs, and general office duties.
Interesting Facts My hometown is named after my great-great-grandfather, who settled the town. It only has about 29 people in the whole town. I had to ride 45 miles to go to high school. The school had 7th thru 12th grade and a student population of 222 students. My graduating class had 39 students in it. When I quit college I had 240 credit hours, enough to have earned 2 bachelor degrees. Students—learn how to work with a college advisor really quickly, when you get to college!!
